We are writing with both sadness and gratitude for a lifetime of work in the service of healing and transformation, that Dr Aminah Raheem Smith, the beloved wife and partner of Dr Fritz Smith, passed peacefully in the early hours of 23 August.
Dr Raheem was the originator of Soul Lightening Acupressure having developed the holistic methods of Process Acupressure and Clinical Acupressure after more than 20 years of study in various psychologies, hands-on modalities and in conjunction with over four decades of personal spiritual practice.
Working as a master teacher of psycho-spiritual development, Dr Raheem taught holistic theory and practice to bodyworkers and psychotherapists around the world. She was an adjunct Faculty at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology for 10 years with her courses being taught at venues such as Esalen in Big Sur, CA and offered by the Upledger Institute.
Dr Raheem was also an ardent supporter of Zero Balancing, having trained in the first Zero Balancing Teacher Training from 1987-1989. Afterwards she taught and mentored countless Zero Balancing teachers and students and served for years on the ZBHA Board of Directors.
She will be deeply missed.
