A detailed description and demonstration of the ZB arm fulcrum – its energetic quality and how it flows into the closing sequence. Dr Smith describes body and hand positioning, building the fulcrum in steps.

Upper Back & Ribs – 34.32
Working with upper body in 3 sections: chest/rib cage, neck & head. Importance of checking quality of vibration of client on table when first sit at head – guides next section of work. Focus on energetics and anatomy of “breathing” ribs – 3 to 10 – Tripodial articulation. First HMV to head. Demo of working with upper back – where to place fulcrums and why.

Neck Fulcrums – 2.57
Review of evaluation of Full Cervical Spine. Demo and explanation of 2 fulcrums – HMV to occiput and HMV with a twist.

Neck Evaluation – 9.42
Explanation of anatomy, evaluation of function with diagram and demo. ZB addresses neck in 2 perspectives – Full neck: 1. Flexion/Extension, 2. Side bend, 3. Rotation and Upper Cervical Spine: 1, Anterior/Posterior Glide, 2. Side bending, 3, Rotation along long axis to read Occiput/C1 as one unit on C2.

Talking about the rhythm of fulcrums in this area and using lifting fulcrums. Holding fulcrums including discussion of multiple fulcrums in scapula, shoulder joint, ribs, trapezius and neck. The significance of fulcrums as client drops into a deeper place. Half moon with twist – describing the fields of this fulcrum.

ZBI Day 3 sample – 1.38
Dr. Smith describes the integration of trapezius muscle fulcrums integrating with rib fulcrums of the upper back, emphasizing finding “bone gold” in the upper ribs.
