Is Zero Balancing for you?
A profound tool in support of wellness and personal transformation
Zero Balancing is a touch therapy that utilises a unique form of skilled “ZB Touch” that was first described by its Founder Dr Fritz Smith as a structural acupressure system of healing. Over the past 50 years, as an understanding of the healing potential of Zero Balancing has deepened, with many thousands of clients across all age groups receiving sessions, Zero Balancing has developed into a profound tool in support of wellness and personal transformation.
How might a ZB session benefit you?
- Feel calmer and more energized. Clients report experiencing a welcome sense of relaxation and renewed vitality, similar to that felt after mindfulness and meditation practises.
- Feel less stressed. Quantitative research has demonstrated that a 30-minute ZB session reduces a person’s measured stress by over 60%, versus a 12% stress reduction for clients during an equivalent rest period (read more). Rhys Dwyer worded it this way: “What is more restful than rest? Zero Balancing by 48%!”
- Feel clear, connected and whole. Further research has found clients reporting a deep sense of calm, mental clarity and connection with themselves… of feeling integrated, of “coming home” and being “at one” with themselves.
- Feel emotionally stable. Clients who schedule monthly sessions report they feel an ongoing sense of feeling more stable, grounded and effortlessly uplifted.
- Feel hopeful about life. A Zero Balancing session amplifies a positive sense of life. Because ZB addresses the whole body and mind, this healing system does not depend on a specific complaint. Even if you are well and feeling good, you can benefit from a ZB session.
“I like the alignment and flow that Zero Balancing brings. ZB wakes up parts of me and reminds me of my aliveness.”
How does “ZB Touch” work?
- Zero Balancing calms you from the inside out by stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system, counteracting the physiological and psychological impact of the “fight or flight” hormone cortisol, that causes emotional stress, anxiety, chronic muscular tension and depletion of the immune system.
- A recent pilot study suggests ZB Touch may also stimulate delta and theta brainwave patterns, which are known to be intrinsically healing and are akin to those experienced during deep meditation.
- Grounded in precise technique and anatomical detail, ZB Touch rebalances areas of tension and tightness held within the body. Clearing these restrictions enhances the flow of qi, allowing tissues to feel softer and more open with an increased feeling of vitality and “aliveness”.
- Long-held trauma and negative emotions can be expressed in the body as deep patterns of tension in our skeleton which manifest as postural issues and other physical, emotional or spiritual imbalances, including pain and disease. ZB Touch can, over a series of sessions, facilitate the release of this sort of patterning imprinted at a vibrational level in our bones, in a similar way to ironing out the creases in our being.
- Many experiencing Zero Balancing have found support for their journeys of self-discovery, self-acceptance and an ability to create positive, life-affirming change. Read More.
“Every time I receive Zero Balancing, I feel peaceful and at ease.”
What is a ZB session like?
- A ZB session lasts on average 30-40 minutes with you, fully dressed in comfortable clothing, lying on your back on a massage couch.
- A carefully designed ZB protocol first addresses the lower half of your body, legs and feet followed by the upper body, including the shoulders, neck and head.
- ZB practitioners are trained to respond fluidly to your needs in the moment, so that within the ZB protocol each session can unfold quite differently.
- You can enjoy ZB without having to spend too long talking and describing your issues, although framing them clearly can prove helpful.
- ZB sits comfortably in relationship with other therapies and practices such as massage, cranial-sacral therapy, oestopathy, acupuncture, yoga, pilates, tai chi and meditation, supporting an holistic approach to personal wellness.
“After the last ZB session I had the best night’s sleep I’ve had in the past six months.”
How does one train in ZB?
- Anyone can start with a 25-hour foundational ZB course. It takes about 2-3 years of training under the umbrella of a local ZB Association to become a fully Certified ZB practitioner. Find your local association here.
- Existing practitioners and therapists report that studying ZB enhances their skill sets and approach to therapeutic work, supporting their personal transformational journeys.
- Local ZB Association Membership offers many students resources, including study groups, mentoring and review classes.
