ZB Touch Foundation Education Committee
Background
In 2013 Fritz Smith MD wrote to international Zero Balancing Faculty members regarding the role of the ZBTF Education Committee.
“Dear Zero Balancing Faculty Members,
Zero Balancing has benefited hugely over the years from the number of classes that have been proposed and taught by Faculty. These classes have helped formulate ZB and have broadened the principles to many areas. We encourage the continuing creation of new classes and are establishing guidelines to help that process.
Because of the International scope of our Faculty, the monitoring of these classes (through the Education Committee) will be in line with the Zero Balancing Touch Foundation holding the Middle C of Zero Balancing.
Fritz Smith MD”

Rebekah Harbour (née Goldstein-Hawes), BSc (Hons) CMT, CZB, CYT, is a Zero Balancing Therapist and Teacher, currently living in Hawaii and New Zealand. She has a background in Social Psychology and worked as a Research Analyst for the New Zealand Government before choosing to serve people through the healing arts instead. She is passionate about sharing complex information in simple ways – through teaching ZB, yoga and sustainable farming practices, and through written and visual communication online. From her Maui hillside cabin she sees private clients, and teaches ZB in the community. In NZ she co-hosts annual Yoga & Meditation retreats, that incorporate ZB theory along with private sessions for all participants and farm-table food. Jeff Lennard
An early interest in encounter groups led Jeff to believe there was a truth in the body beyond words and embark on a life-long exploration of movement and touch. His work over the years since has been influenced by many wonderful pioneering teachers in the fields of Somatics, Massage, Feldenkrais and Tai-Chi.
Having always been inspired by graceful movement and the point where body, mind and spirit co-exist in harmony, Jeff felt he had “come home” when he took his first Zero Balancing course. The experience gave him a deeper understanding of himself and his work and provided an integrated and transformational approach for supporting his clients.
Jeff has since been a long-time supporter of Zero Balancing, becoming a ZB Teacher in 1996 and since then teaching and mentoring countless ZB students. He is a Trustee of ZB UK Ltd and has coordinated the UK Certification Programme for over 20 years. At the invitation of Fritz Smith MD, he joined the ZB Touch Foundation as a founding member of its Education Committee which he now chairs. This was set up to hold “Middle C” for Zero Balancing worldwide. He is currently also a Director of the ZBTF Board, having been appointed in 2017.
Jeff lives in North London with Catherine and their two sons Seán and Luke. He has had a practice in Central London since 1992.

She earned a Master’s Degree in Holistic Health from De Paul University. Karen is grateful to have served as Executive Director of the Zero Balancing Health Association for 3 years and is currently serving on the Education Committee of the ZB Touch Foundation. One of the gifts ZB has brought to her life was the opportunity to study and assist ZB classes at the Esalen Institute, which inspired Karen to move to California where she met her husband. Karen and Charles now raise their daughter Sylvie in Burlingame, CA, where Karen practices Zero Balancing in a private PT clinic. ZB has had a profound impact on her personal and professional life and it gives her deep joy to share ZB with her clients.
